Password Protecting Websites with Apache .htaccess

There are likely to be areas of your website that you don’t want others to be able to access, such as admin areas. Or sometimes you might want to do some quick updates to your code without the website being accessible to the public. If you’re using the Apache web server the hypertext access (.htaccess) file lets you add password protection in a flash!

Website Redirects on LAMP Hosting

You might want to redirect web pages or even your entire website for one reason or another. Perhaps you changed the name or location of a web page, you changed from HTML to PHP file extensions, you changed your domain name… the list goes on. Luckily there are many different ways in which you can set up redirects in a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) web hosting environment.
