You will also be responsible for analysis and research of prospects. Training will be given, and you will have access to the latest SEO and analysis tools. You will also analyse the results implemented by our SEO Consultants and liaise with clients, looking for opportunities to improve the clients&#8217; online business. You will attend client meetings and be in constant communication with the client to ensure all Search projects are achieving their targets.</p>

Check in your Gmail account over the next few days to see if you have access! It’s also planned to make Google Buzz available to businesses and schools using Google Apps, with added features for sharing within organisations.</p>

<p>At the moment I’ve not had a chance to have a play with it yet, but it looks to be offering an easy way to share content online with an improved mobile experience.</p>
<p>Buzz will show a thumbnail of YouTube video’s and make it easy to play in line.</p>
<p>With photos, it will show thumbnails, with a custom photo viewer, which lets you flip through pictures and see them &#8220;big and fast&#8221;. You can &#8220;like&#8221; and &#8220;unlike&#8221; stuff, and expand comments.</p>
<p>Public/Private sharing &#8211; The post box will let you post updates publicly or privately. If it&#8217;s public, it will go to your Google profile, and is indexed by Google&#8217;s real-time search.</p>
<p>In your in-box, you’ll see notifications that contain real-time comments. It will sit in the same in-box as your regular email, but you can move between your regular in-box and your Buzz stuff.</p>
<p>Mobile could be one of the biggest keys to the success of this product. Google says Google.com is the world&#8217;s most popular mobile home page, and Buzz can be accessed from there on iPhone and Android devices.</p>
<p>Buzz could also benefit businesses as an organisational tool. The first thing that comes to mind is the expansion of communication with existing contacts. When you&#8217;re frequently seeing what your Gmail contacts are saying, it will not only keep those people fresh in your mind, but it could develop further communication.</p>
<p>The question is, will Gmail users buy into this quick sharing? Google thinks so because it’s a part of the evolution from email, to IM, to status updates. In Google’s eyes, this is part of the evolution to the next big jump to Google Wave. Buzz could be the little step needed to get people to think about communicating in a way beyond email and IM.</p>

Google appears to love Blogs, websites that have up-to-date blogs have made some commitment to adding and updating content on their website and are therefore contributing positively to the internet.  Google rewards good relevant content with high search positions. It is possible to get 1st page results on Google and even top positions on Google in under 5 minutes.</p>
<p> Good blogging practice means writing a blog on a regular basis, daily if possible, but weekly can be sufficient. Other tips may include:</p>

<li>Not being sales oriented</li>
<li>Linking to other resources both on your site as well as off site.</li>
<li>Getting your blog followed by linking into social networks, social book marking sites and article sites</li>

<p> So as a blog grows it increases the number of pages in your website, as the readership increases, then so the authority of your site will increase. The effect of this is that it can increase the number of search terms that a website can be found on.</p>
<h4><em>Article Writing </em></h4>
<p>Writing Articles on other websites is a great way to improve your reputation as an expert to your customers. Articles on other good reputable websites linking to your site can also build your &#8220;reputation&#8221; with Google.</p>
<h4><em>Facebook, Twitter and other Social Network Websites</em></h4>
<p>Many Social Network sites have started out as online meeting points for friends and people with common interests. However, 2009 saw more and more  companies using social network sites to engage with their customers, often by creating a more personal face of the company and by deploying targeted content and offers to specific demographs.</p>

<p>Like so much of internet marketing, <strong>it is measurable</strong>, with many websites getting over 25% of their traffic from Blogs and visitors from social network sites and blogs being 3 times more likely to buy. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The power of social media made itself felt over the last two weeks achieving one of the biggest chart upsets in history. A Rage Against the X Factor campaign that began as a Facebook group, spread rapidly and has attracted 507,206 fans and counting.  More fans than the Rage Against The Machine fan group itself which at the same time, had 468,778 fans. Started in the UK, the campaign soon spread worldwide through social networking websites such as Twitter, MySpace and Bebo, forums, blogs and about every other form of online communication. If ever there was an example of the power of social media, this is it: a global campaign, sales of 507,206 and all the hard work done by music fans. Traditional media formats also played their part, with high coverage of the battle in newspapers, magazines, on the television and radio. Further raising awareness about the Rage Against the X Factor campaign and perhaps more importantly validating the movement and inspiring more people to purchase Rage Against the Machine’s 1992 single. The 2009 Christmas Number  1 will not only be remembered for being a social media phenomenon, it’s also become the UK’s first download-only Christmas number one. Another victory for online marketing and ecommerce over traditional sales and marketing. </p>

<p>For online marketing agencies and businesses keen to improve their online marketing strategies the power of social media has been re-affirmed, particularly the potential of Facebook for businesses. The Rage Against the X Factor campaign also provides some valuable lessons about the circumstances in which social media can create a global buzz about a product or service.</p>
<p> Firstly, Rage Against the Machine’s “Killing In The Name” was an inspired choice for the campaign, a song about rebellion by a band who are the antithesis of the X Factor. Secondly, the X Factor backlash was poised to explode and the Rage Against the X Factor campaign gave it the perfect vessel.  And thirdly, various charity campaigns were set up inspired by the Rage Against the X Factor campaign, improving social perception and the movements “brand.” Tom Morrello, Rage Against the Machines guitarist pledged that he’d donate the proceeds from unprecedented increase in sales to charity and announced they’d play a free Victory gig.</p>
<p>The Rage Against the X Factor campaign became a moral crusade, not only against X Factor but against the culture which X Factor is part of. Granted many cynics will be keen to point out that the X Factor’s Joe McElderry and Rage Against the Machine are essentially on the same label. But I don’t think the Rage Against the X Factor was about money and who’s pockets were getting lined, it was about reclaiming British culture (and yes, they are an American band).</p>
<p>So what have we learnt? That social media marketing should be engaging, it should inspire people to communicate about your campaign. Where possible you should be responsive to social trends, capitalise on current events or news. You should take every opportunity to promote any social responsibility initiatives such as charity donations or environmental activities.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Coca-Cola currently has 3.3 million fans following its Facebook page, what’s so incredible about this is that wasn’t started by Coca-Cola.</p>
<p>LA residents Dusty Sorg and Michael Jedrzejewski couldn’t find an Official page for Coca-Cola and so they decided to create a page themselves.<span id="more-503"></span></p>
<p>He downloaded images and set up the Fan Page, and before long it was a very popular site.  Then last November Facebook brought in a new policy that required pages that promoted brands to be operated by the authorised brand.  Facebook gave Coke the option, the page is closed or is handed over to Coke.</p>

<p>Coke had to make the choice, and with such a big following the decided to give Sorg and Jedrzejewski a call.</p>
<p>Initially Jedrzejewski said he was very worried about the call but Coke flew them both to Atlanta to talk business and ask that they officially run the page!</p>
<p>Coke wasn&#8217;t always naturally at ease with the idea that consumers are increasingly in control.   For Coke this could easily have been turned into a PR nightmare involving Facebook&#8217;s second largest page (after Barack Obama&#8217;s)</p>
<p>Coke has now turned this into an excellent example of why giving consumers control can be a good thing.</p>
<p>For Coke this now gives a new meaning to the old Coca-Cola slogan, &#8220;<em>You Can&#8217;t Beat the Feeling</em>&#8220;.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>E-marketer reported that advertising spend on Social Media  <img style="float:right; margin:10px;" title="Social Media" src="http://www.wsi-ebizsolutions.biz/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/Social-Media-154x300.jpg" alt="Social Media" width="154" height="300" /> is expected to increase by 10% each year.</p>
<p>Marketers will be responsible for spending some $2.35 billion on Social Media Advertising (globally) in 2009 (representing a 17% increase over the previous years.</p>
<p>2010 will see another increase in social media advertising spend to $2.6 billion, which will rise by 2013 to $3.5 billion.<span id="more-233"></span></p>
<p>21% of the Best In Class companies are actually going to increase their spend on Social Media by at least 25%  in 2009 According to The Aberdeen Group, We at WSI expect the rest of the following companies to follow that trend, if not next year then the year after.</p>
<p>We (WSI Huddersfield, West Yorkshire) have found that typically, our Social Media Clients find that visitors from their social media presence will stay on their sites twice as long and are <strong>3 times as likely to buy.</strong></p>
<p>Although <strong>Facebook</strong> has overtaken <strong>MySpace </strong>in terms of number of accounts, MySpace still leads the social media advertising spending league, but Facebook are catching up:</p>

Facebook                            2008   $250m       2009  $300m </strong></p>
<p>Others have now entered the race with the likes of LinkedIn rapidly growing with its distinct adult professional audience.</p>
<p>In fact the majority of online marketers (65%)  are now using Facebook as an integral part of their social media strategy. Meanwhile 49% of e-marketers are now incorporating Twitter into their online social media strategy. Our own findings from our customers around West Yorkshire, Sheffield &amp; Manchester echo this, in fact we find that all Facebook Activity is at least backed up with a Twitter Strategy.</p>
<p>Our client base also echos the e-marketer findings in You Tube (39%) and Linked in (38%) relative usage. We have found a large increase in customers wanting personalised You Tube, Facebook and Twitter pages, while the use of these social media sites to engage with and to also seek out new customers is now a vital plank of any marketing strategy.</p>
<p>Customers who fully engage in the social media process are finding that their sales are up 20% or more on last year.</p>
<p>Delicious &amp; Digg are also being used by 31% of the marketeers that E-Consultancy surveyed.</p>
